SANTA ANA, Calif. - A former Marine already accused of killing four homeless men was charged Monday with two new counts of murder in the stabbing deaths of his high school friend's mother and older brother.

Casildo Varbarin, 22, of Clovis, was taken into custody early Saturday after officers went to an apartment complex on Willow Avenue just north of Ashlan Avenue about 11 p.m. Friday and found a man who had been stabbed to death.

Ortega, a former Orange Count Sherriff Deputy, left that department and served as a police captain for the Montebello Unified School District Police Department. In March of last year, he took the position of Police Chief for the Mt San Jacinto College Police Department.
